Experienced Sniper Would Suit Balanced Bruins Best at NHL Trade Deadline The NHL trade deadline is less than a month away and the Bruins, like almost every other club around the league, will be looking to tweak their lineup for a Stanley Cup playoff run.

But which aisle should the B’s restock?

The third-place Bruins — who are first in the Northeast — have 152 goals for (tied for fifth in the East) and have allowed a league-best 112 goals against.

With Tim Thomas on his way toward bagging other Vezina trophy and Tuukka Rask backing him up, the B’s are all set between the pipes.

The team is deep on defense — so deep, in fact, that head coach Claude Julien and general manager Peter Chiarelli have the tough task of having to sit either Steven Kampfer or Adam McQuaid going forward. Veterans Zdeno Chara, Andrew Ference, Dennis Seidenberg, Mark Stuart and Johnny Boychuk make up one of the most balanced and experienced defensive corps in the East, but that’s not to say the unit couldn’t be enhanced.

The B’s could always use some help up front (what team couldn’t?). Adding legendary goal scorer Mark Recchi (happy 43rd birthday, No. 28) at the deadline a couple of years ago has proven to be a major factor in the team’s success ever since. Will adding one more lamp-lighter be the missing ingredient or does the current team have all the right pieces as is?
