Zdeno Chara Focused on Winning More Games With Bruins While Contending for Second Norris Trophy

On Saturday, Zdeno Chara broke the record for the fastest slap shot in the NHL with a 105.9 mph blast at the All-Star SuperSkills Competition. The record he beat? His own.

Raising the bar has become a career standard for the Bruins captain, as he continually works to improve his game – not only for himself, but for the team as well.

Chara sat down with NESN's Naoko Funayama during NESN Daily on Monday to discuss his success as of late, and he even talked about the recent chatter surrounding his likelihood at winning a second Norris Trophy.

"I always want to perform as best I can and shut down top players, that's my priority," Chara said. "I know once I do that I give my team a good chance to win … I would love to be a part of it [Norris Trophy consideration] but my focus is finishing strong this season and get as many wins as possible."
