Andy Carroll's goal drought spanning back to his days at Newcastle United has ended, though not in a Liverpool shirt.

In just his second England appearance, the 22-year-old notched his first goal as a senior international in the first half against Ghana, taking a Stewart Downing layoff on the left side of the area beautifully, beating Richard Kingson low at the far post to give England a 1-0 lead.

This was Carroll's first goal since Dec. 26 2010, when he netted for the Toon against Manchester City.

Carroll has yet to score in four appearances for Liverpool.
