Bruins Win, Hurricanes Loss in Regulation Gives B’s Playoff Berth

The Bruins could seal the deal on Saturday.

If the B’s beat the Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes lose to the Lightning in regulation, the B’s will earn a playoff berth.

In addition, the Pittsburgh Penguins (who are idle on Saturday) would clinch an Eastern Conference playoff berth if the Carolina Hurricanes lose (in regulation, overtime or shootout) to the Lightning.

Speaking of Pittsburgh. The Sabres-Devils and B’s-Rangers games on Saturday have no bearing on Penguins’ opportunity to clinch a playoff berth. Even regulation losses by both Buffalo and NY Rangers on Saturday would not be enough to get Pittsburgh in.
