Danny Woodhead Could Be on Cover of Madden 12, But Running Back Faces Uphill Climb in Fan Vote Patriots running back Danny Woodhead could land on the cover of Madden 12, one of the most highly anticipated video games of the year.

Each NFL team is represented in a 32-player bracket challenge that will determine the cover athlete. Woodhead set career highs in 2010 with 547 rushing yards, 379 receiving yards and six total touchdowns.

Fans will vote to determine who wins each matchup. Each of the five rounds lasts one week, with the first round starting Monday. The voting for the finals concludes April 26.

It won't be an easy road for the fourth-seeded Woodhead, who opens up against Bills receiver Stevie Johnson. If Woodhead gets out of the first round, he'll face Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks or Redskins outside linebacker Brian Orakpo.

It will get more difficult after that, though. If Woodhead advances to the quarterfinals, he'll be a big-time underdog against Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers, former Madden cover star Larry Fitzgerald, 2010 Offensive Rookie of the Year Sam Bradford or 2010 Defensive Rookie of the Year Ndamukong Suh.

Woodhead's potential semifinal matchups could be Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, Ravens running back Ray Rice, Browns running back Peyton Hillis or Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

And if Woodhead made it to the championship round, he could potentially face Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, the Seahawks "12th Man" (which is either a nod to Seattle's tremendous crowd or a polite way to say the Seahawks don't have any marketable players), Titans running back Chris Johnson or Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware.
