Saturday afternoon, Terry Francona was surprised with the question on whether he had a rule about a player leaving a game to buy hot dogs?

"No. Not if he shares," Francona answered.

Dustin Pedroia's name was brought up, and Francona turned to Red Sox publicist Pam Ganley saying, "What did that little rat do?"

According to ESPN.com, Pedroia made a mid-game rendezvous to a concession stand and bought himself three hot dogs

"I was starving," he said.

He was asked if he paid.

"[Expletive] right I did," Pedroia said.

Was there change?

"Yeah," he said.  "I gave her a hundred-dollar-bill."

Oddly enough, no one even noticed it was him.

"They probably didn't know he was a player," Francona said with a scoff. "Did you see the outfit he had on? He looked like he was going into the second grade. I got to go out and do a [photo shoot] with him. I’m embarrassed for him."

After the sixth inning against the Florida Marlins, Pedroia had changed out of uniform when he went on the snack run.  When the vendors at the concession stand were asked who had helped Pedroia, the question was met with confused looks and uncertainty.  One girl finally remembered when the hundred-dollar-bill was mentioned.

"A guy bought three hot dogs and asked if I had change for a hundred," said Courtney Hetzel, who attends Fort Myers High. "I was like, 'Yeah.' I gave him the change and he walked away."

Hetzel said she didn't recognize Pedroia.
