The Red Sox second baseman's jersey was among the top 10 best-selling MLB jerseys in 2010, ranking eighth on the list ahead of Giants ace Tim Lincecum and Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, CSNBC.com reports.
The Phillies dominated the list with players coming in ranked at No. 3, 4 and 5. Roy Halladay finished third on the list, as his incredible season led to a no-hitter in the playoffs, and unanimous voting toward his second Cy Young Award.
Chase Utley and Cliff Lee also represented Philadelphia, ranking fourth and fifth on the best-selling list, respectively. Though Lee's jersey sales also count from his time with the Mariners and the Rangers, one can safely assume that his number was in high demand once he signed with the Phillies in December.
It comes as no surprise that Derek Jeter finished in the top spot. The 15-year Yankees veteran is the most marketable player on one of the most popular franchises in the league, and it doesn't hurt that the captain has helped lead his team to five World Series championships throughout his tenure.
Twins catcher Joe Mauer, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton and Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols were also ranked.
