If you think Tim Thomas is having a heck of a season, just imagine how well Hal Winkler looked during the 1927-28 campaign.

During Saturday’s game against the Rangers, fans were asked: Which Bruins goalie owns the franchise record for most shutouts in a single season?

Winkler, who notched 15 shutouts that season, still owns the record. Tiny Thompson was hot on his heals twice, when he posted 12 shutouts the very next year and 11 during the 1932-33 season.

The most recent netminder to crack double digits in shutouts was Byron Dafoe, who had 10 during the 1998-99 season.
