Injuries Already a Significant Issue for Some AL East Teams

Injuries Already a Significant Issue for Some AL East Teams FORT MYERS, Fla. — You must have been living under a rock last year to not know that the Red Sox had a few injuries.

That rock must still be pretty heavy if you think they won't have any this season. Injuries (say it with me) are part of the game, and the words "disabled list" will be uttered more than once in Fenway Park in 2011.

The Sox just have to hope it is nothing like it was last season, or for others to have their own issues. While Boston has managed to avoid the bug early on, and Adrian Gonzalez is days from returning, each American League East opponent has had an issue or two to deal with in camp.

Last week we took a look at four players who had done something notable, whether good or bad, through the first week of Grapefruit League play. This time around let's examine a few players dealing with physical issues that may or may not impact them, and their teams, going forward.

The O's are keeping a close eye on the health of Derrek Lee and Brian Roberts.

Francisco Cervelli's latest injury means more on-the-job training for two new Yankees' backstops.

Tampa is feeling good with an offday on the way, and Jeremy Hellickson ready to build his workload.

Blue Jays
Toronto needs Aaron Hill healthy, and they need him to return to his 2009 form.
