Vote: Is Brandon Meriweather Worth the $1 Million Raise He Is Due for the 2011 Season? It's time for the Patriots to add some zeroes to safety Brandon Meriweather's contract.

On Tuesday, ESPN reported that the safety will receive an increase in his base salary from $650,000 to $1.65 million for the 2011 season, the final year of his contract. That's a $1 million bonus for all you non-math majors. Quite the escalator for a four-year veteran coming off his worst professional season.

The first-round draft choice in 2007 made it to his second career Pro Bowl last season despite having a very inconsistent year. After chipping in with two straight seasons of at least 80 total tackles (83 in 2008, 84 in 2009), the Miami product posted just 68 tackles in 2010. He has 12 career picks — all of which coming in the last three years — but just three of which came last season, his lowest picks total since his rookie year.
