JetBlue Airways announced on Tuesday they will remain the Official Airline of the Red Sox for eight more seasons.

JetBlue, Boston's largest airline, is also the Official Airline of Fenway Park and they will sponsor JetBlue Park, the new spring training ballpark for the Sox in Lee County, Fla.

Red Sox vice president Sam Kennedy and JetBlue senior vice president Marty St. George celebrated on Tuesday at the JetBlue ticket counter at Southwest Florida International Airport.

"From the outset, our relationship with JetBlue Airways has been a true partnership based on our shared commitment to the highest levels of customer service," Kennedy said. "This is a great day for Red Sox Nation."

With the contract extension, JetBlue becomes a Fenway Park Preservation Partner, making it part of an elite group of organizations that will help celebrate the Red Sox 100th anniversary next year.

JetBlue will also continue to sponsor Lindos Suenos, the Red Sox' youth volunteer exchange program in the Dominican Republic.

JetBlue Park will have similarities from the original Fenway as it will have its own Green Monster to go along with a manual scoreboard, while the dimensions will be identical to Fenway and the bullpens will be located in the same place.

The new ballpark and Player Development Complex are scheduled to open for the 2012 spring training season.
