A relentless fan cashed in on his unusual request for Liverpool players to autograph his red garbage pail — or as its called in England, a "wheelie bin."

Ronnie Dunwoody, 52, got Kenny Dalglish and the Liverpool first team to sign his wheeling garbage bin. Dunwoody asked for the autographs outside the Melwood training ground last week, according to Echo.co.uk.

"The security were against me at first. It was before the Manchester United game and they said, because everyone said they were playing rubbish, they weren’t going to want to sign the bin," Dunwoody said.

Dunwoody, a dog walker from Wavertree, England, assured the naysayers that "it wasn’t a personal thing about them being rubbish". Instead he had a positive goal to achieve — the pail is a wedding present for his friends, Tracy and Rob, who live in Bulgaria.

Dunwoody explained the situation to the stars as they came out of practice and surprisingly enough, they were happy to sign.

"Kenny Dalglish signed under the lid, with his best wishes to Tracy and Rob. I got Joe Cole, Christian Poulsen — nine signatures in total. A few of them laughed, but they didn't say anything."

Apparently, wheelie bins are hard to find in Bulgaria. When Tracy and Rob announced they were getting married, friends thought the red bin would make a perfect Liverpool-themed gift.

Dunwoody agreed to bring them a garbage pail. He discovered the red one in a "car boot sale," the British version of a community garage sale.

A Liverpool spokesman said the request of autographs on a wheelie bin was unusual, but he wished Tracy and Rob the best on their wedding.
