The never-ending list of defenders potentially coming to Anfield in the summer continues to grow, as Michel Bastos, Vedran Corluka and Mateo Musacchio have emerged as the most recent names to enter the rumor mill.

With the exception of Fabio Coentrao, Bastos is perhaps the most high-profile player to be linked with Liverpool. The 27-year-old Brazil international, much like Coentrao, can play anywhere on the left side and is a potent scoring threat, scoring 14 goals in 53 appearances at current club Lyon. Bastos, however, wouldn't come cheap, but according to IMScouting, Kenny Dalglish is willing to spend £ 14.5 million on the Brazilian.

Corluka, a favorite of Damien Comolli from his days at White Hart Lane, was linked with a Liverpool move in January, and the likelihood of such has only increased, as Harry Redknapp is now targeting Micah Richards to bolster his defense, and Kyle Walker will stake his claim to the right-back position when he returns from his Aston Villa loan spell, according to Daily Mail. Corluka is valued at upwards of £10 million per TransferMarkt, but he could come cheaper than such. The 25-year-old Croatian international can play anywhere in the back four.

At just 20 years of age, Musacchio has emerged as one of the world's most exciting defensive prospects. The Argentine's value has skyrocketed recently as he has emerged in Villareal's first team, and though he was reportedly bid for in January by AC Milan and Juventus, Liverpool is reported to also be in the hunt. Unlike Bastos and Corluka, though, Musacchio is a center back, not a left back.

Clearly, there are nothing but options available as Liverpool looks to bolster its back four.
