Who Are the Boston Bruins’ Last Three Calder Trophy Winners?

Brad Marchand has made a name for himself in the corners, on the penalty kill and on the scoreboard at the barn in Boston's North End this season.

Marshy eclipsed the 20-goal plateau on Sunday — not a bad feat for a rookie who spent the majority of the season on the team's energy line.

While it might be borderline impossible for the young winger to overtake such other rookie studs as Michael Grabner (31 goals), Logan Couture (30 goals), Jeff Skinner (53 points) or Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban for this year's Calder Trophy, it can be agreed upon that Marchand has had one of the most impressive rookie seasons in recent B's history.

Boston has had a rich history of talented rookies, dating back to Frank Brimsek in 1939, Jack Gelineau in 1950 or in 1967 and 1968 when Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson won the award in back-to-back years. The Maple Leafs have had their fair share of talented rookies as the Toronto franchise has had the most (nine) Calder Trophy recipients among all NHL teams — none, however, since 1966.
