Qatar World Cup to Introduce Floating Artificial Cloud to Keep Pitch Cool During Triple-Digit TemperaturesWith World Cup officials predicting temperatures in the millions when Qatar hosts soccer’s main (only?) stage in 2022, someone, somewhere felt that something had to be done.

And thus, the world’s first artificial cloud was born. Much like the Visitor’s mothership hovering above Manhattan on ABC’s V, this contraption was designed by folks from the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering department at Qatar University and is expected to float above the pitch during matches.

According to whoateallthepies.tv, the floating Nimbostratus structure is operated by remote control, made of 100 percent light carbonic materials, filled with helium, fueled by four solar-powered engines and will filter both direct and indirect UV rays — all for a cool price tag of about $500,000.

Quote of the day

“No, check this out man. When my wife married me, I was OD’ing every day. I was a mess. I didn’t deserve a prostitute with full-blown AIDS. I could have gotten one, but I didn’t deserve her. She was slummin’ if she was with me at that stage. We’re putting it together We’re putting our foundation together one brick at a time, and it seems to be going well. We had to get reacquainted. We’re started to get reacquainted now that we’re married.”

Comment of the day

Shocked about this comment? If you’ve ever been to the balcony during a Habs-B’s game, you wouldn’t be. Great showing by the fans on Thursday night — hopefully this guy stayed out of “Chucky’s Place.”

“I might be there already waiting for you! Good old Suffolk County Jail “Chucky’s Place”! Been there done that! That is the reason I moved to the South Shore from C town, far away from there! I have seats behind the bruins bench for tonight! Maybe I will look to trade them down for balcony seats where the real action will be at! It is going to be a real good game with emotions running sky high!”

If any Bruins fan can come up with a music video with original (and clean) lyrics to WolvesDonWool’s “Bah Bah Hab Sheep” idea, I will personally post it on Daily Blend. Twice.
