Sometimes enjoying a baseball game is easier said than done, especially when fans take spring training games too seriously.
On Wednesday, Rays manager Joe Maddon proved that he will not hesitate in standing up for his players by having an Orioles fan removed from Tampa Bay's game against Baltimore on Sunday, the Huffington Post reports.
According to Maddon, the fan was making racist comments toward outfielder B.J. Upton and the Rays manager requested to have the fan removed before causing further damage. The fan was reportedly sitting near the dugout, so Maddon and the other coaches could clearly hear his taunts.
Conveniently, after the incident a Twitter account appeared that is said to belong to the ejected fan, Jeremy Zarou.
Zarou called Maddon a liar, saying "I didn't say one racial comment or anything considered to be racist. It was a lie to get me to leave."
