Todd Bertuzzi's hit on Ryan Johnson on Monday night had many hockey fans up in arms, but it won't get the veteran winger suspended.

According to ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun, Bertuzzi will not face a hearing with the NHL and will not face any suppplementary discipline.

Bertuzzi was assessed a five-minute major penalty for elbowing and a 10-minute game misconduct for the hit. Though he forever wears the scarlet letter in terms of bad behavior on the ice, he's maintained a clean record since that infamous punch on Steve Moore on Feb. 16, 2004.

Johnson accepted Bertuzzi's apology after the game.

"I don't think it was malicious," Johnson said. "He was very apologetic."
