Despite the negotiations ending between the NFLPA and the league owners, the New England Patriots are still looking at prospects.

According to the Twitter account of Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter, Charean Williams, the Pats have scheduled a private workout session with Texas Christian University quarterback Andy Dalton. He also has workouts set with the Bears and Browns, Willams tweeted.

Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston reports that the Patriots use private workouts for scouting purposes and often schedule them throughout the offseason. They will continue to look at the 6-foot-2 quarterback to determine their final level of interest.

“I’m a smart quarterback, I work really hard, I’m a perfectionist,” Dalton said in an interview at the NFL combine. “I can make all the throws. I think the thing I need to work on the most is being under center a little more. We ran a lot of shotgun.”

At TCU, Dalton threw 71 touchdowns with 61.7 percent pass completions and 30 interceptions.

If selected by the Pats, Dalton would join the likes of quarterback Tom Brady and backup quarterback Brian Hoyer on the depth chart.
