Former Patriots tight end Daniel Graham’s older brother, Jason, died Saturday of brain cancer complications, according to the Denver Post

Jason Graham was 38 years old and grew up in Denver, where his father, Tom, played linebacker for the Broncos in the 1970s.

The Patriots selected Daniel Graham in the first round of the 2002 draft. He caught 120 passes for 1,393 yards and 17 touchdowns in five years with New England, and he signed with the Broncos in 2007. Denver released him this offseason.

Jason Graham was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2001, and his mother, Marilyn, donated her kidney to Jason in 2006 to prevent him from going on dialysis. Graham was diagnosed with a rare form of brain lymphoma last October that was caused by immunosuppressant drugs he took for the kidney transplant.

Jason Graham is survived by his wife, Michelle, and his son, Kendall.
