Jonathan Papelbon Wins Amica Pitcher of the Week Honors Behind Handful of Strikeouts So far this season Jonathan Papelbon recorded six outs. Five of those six outs have come via the strikeout as the closer has been able to blow hitters away early on.

For his efforts, Papelbon is the winner of this week's Amica Pitcher of the Week.

Papelbon got the season off to a shaky start on April 3 when he gave up a run in just an inning of work. However, after intentionally walking the bases loaded, Papelbon geared up to strike out the side limiting the damage.

Then, at the home opener on Friday, Papelbon slammed the door shut on the Yankees recording his first save of the season in the Red Sox' first win of the young campaign.
