Kate Upton Gains More Fans With 'Dougie' at Clippers Game Than Appearance on Cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Kate Upton is an 18-year-old model who appeared on the inset of the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Her popularity grew after the SI shoot, obviously, but it was nothing compared to her meteoric rise to fame this week.

And what was the event that brought her all this attention? Why, casually dancing at a Los Angeles Clippers game, of course.

Oh, the power of YouTube.

Upton was doing the somehow-still-popular “Dougie” dance that swept the nation last year like the Hula-Hoop did in 1958, and the video has popped up all over YouTube. Check it out in the Video of the Day section.

Coincidentally, outside of Blake Griffin‘s one-man dunk show, it’s also the most publicity the Clippers have gotten all season.

Quote of the Day

“Butler really plays defense. I mean, they really play defense. And we really play defense. And I think eventually our quickness and length got to them, but from a purist standpoint, if you really like defense, take a clip of this game.”
–UConn coach Jim Calhoun, attempting to equate Butler’s inability to hit any shots to good defense

Comment of the day

Hooray, baseball weather!

“It’s 37 degrees and windy here in Cleveland right now…can’t wait to be at the game tonight to see Becks stop the Tribe.”

Tweet of the day

On Monday afternoon, NESN.com posted a chart from BusinessInsider.com that showed historically that teams that start 0-3 don’t generally make the playoffs. Fans, obviously, didn’t like that, but this one in particular has invoked the spirit of ’04. That might be exactly what the Red Sox need.
