Lakers rookie backup forward Derrick Caracter picked an interesting way to prepare for Game 4 in New Orleans.

Rather than getting some quality sleep and staying low key on Saturday night to be fully prepared for Sunday's tilt with the Hornets, the 22-year-old was arrested after 1 a.m. on Sunday at an International House of Pancakes near the Lakers' team hotel for allegedly assaulting a pregnant waitress while intoxicated.

The 6-foot-9 forward "was drunk and acting disorderly inside the restaurant," according to Nola.com.

New Orleans Police spokeswoman Shereese Harper told Nola.com that the player "started grabbing and pulling" a pregnant waitress. Upon seeing this, a manager flagged down a police officer, who arrested Caracter when he remained disobedient.

Caracter was brought to Orleans Parish jail and booked with one count of battery for hitting the waitress, as well as one count each of public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Caracter didn't get any playing time during the Lakers' loss to the Hornets on Sunday.
