FOXBORO, Mass. — The NFL has been granted a temporary stay by the Eighth Circuit, meaning the lockout is back on.
The temporary stay will be in place until the Eighth Circuit has time to rule on a more permanent stay, which is expected to be decided on Monday. If that stay is granted, the lockout would continue until the NFL's injunction appeal is ruled upon. That process could take six to eight weeks.
The league's wild week took one last turn Friday night, with the Eighth Circuit issuing the stay during the start of the draft. Players across the league reported to team facilities for workouts Friday morning, but they will no longer be able to do that until the permanent stay is decided next week.
