Mike Leake found out the hard way on Monday that the security cameras at Macy’s are actually pretty good.

According to Cincinnati.com, the Reds pitcher was arrested on Monday in Cincinnati on accusations of theft. The report claims that Leake was stopped after reportedly taking $59.88 worth of property from a Macy’s in the city. Police say that the store’s security cameras caught the right-handed pitcher in the act.

While the theft is a misdemeanor, the 23-year-old is looking at a maximum jail sentence of 180 days. Leake, a former Arizona State Sun Devil, was drafted by the Reds in 2009 and made his big league debut last season without spending a day in the minors.

According to Cot’s Contracts, Leake is making $425,000 for the 2011 season. Leake also received a signing bonus of $2.3 million when he was drafted.
