There are messy divorces, and then there is the ongoing McCourt saga with the Los Angeles Dodgers' owners that is spiraling toward a new low.

On the same day that Major League Baseball decided to intervene and take over Frank McCourt's crumbling baseball franchise, TMZ.com reports that he and wife, Jamie, are being investigated by the IRS.

The investigation reportedly stems from questions regarding $145 million the couple took from the team during their messy divorce proceedings. IRS agents are investigating whether or not the couple paid taxes on the large amount of money.

The couple filed for divorce in 2009.

The IRS is also reportedly investigating the McCourt children and whether or not they were receiving pay from the organization, despite not actually doing any real work.
