California defensive end Cam Jordan might be a perfect fit for the Patriots, and Bill Belichick might be willing to trade into the top 10 to make sure the Patriots get him.

The Cowboys have discussed trading the draft’s ninth overall pick to the Patriots, who are interested in getting aggressive to land Jordan, according to ESPN. It’s unclear what type of package the Patriots would have to send Dallas to acquire the ninth pick.

Jordan most often projects to get taken between Nos. 9 and 18 in Thursday night’s first round. The Cowboys, Texans (No. 11), Vikings (No. 12), Rams (No. 14), Dolphins (No. 15) and Jaguars (No. 16) could all be interested in Jordan, who can play defensive end in three- and four-man fronts.
