The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without Matt Cooke for the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and it's beginning to sound like they'll be without Sidney Crosby as well.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pens coach Dan Bylsma is still not ready to put any sort of a timetable for a return for Crosby's return as he continues to deal with a concussion.
"We've said it before and continue to say, he has a couple more steps to go in his rehabilitation before he can even think about returning to play," Bylsma told the paper. "I don't know how fast that's going to happen. I don't know if it's going to happen.
"There's no way to even make a timetable and considering that he has two more steps to go through, it would seem like anything in the immediate future is out of the question."
Crosby hasn't played since Jan. 5 after sustaining the concussion. He's recently returned to skating some, but he still hasn't been cleared for any sort of contact. While Crosby has only played in 41 games this season, he still leads the Pens in goals and assists.
Despite playing without Crosby for the second half of the season the Penguins entered Saturday tied with Philadelphia in the Atlantic Division with 104 points with both teams having just one game to play.
Pittsburgh already knows that they will be without Cooke who was suspended for the remainder of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs after a hit on New York's Ryan McDonagh.
