Terry Francona Leads Dan Shaughnessy’s List of Top Red Sox Managers of All Time

In honor of Terry Francona‘s 52nd birthday on Friday, the talk turned to Boston managers during Red Sox Gameday Live before the Sox and Angels game.

Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy stopped in for a quick segment with NESN’s Tom Caron, and when asked which Red Sox manager topped his all-time best list, Shaughnessy said that honor lies with Tito.

“I think you have to put him number one,” Shaughnessy said. “I know you can go back to the teens, and the [Joe] Kerrigan days, and obviously Joe Cronin was here for like a million years in the 1940s and 1950s and all that jazz. But to win two World Series in this day and age, and to come from where they’ve come from … I’m going to put him number one.”

Where does Francona rank in your list of top Red Sox managers?
