Which Player Will Be the Celtics’ Postseason X Factor?

Which Player Will Be the Celtics' Postseason X Factor? Let's be honest. The Celtics need an X factor — the way the team has been playing since the Kendrick Perkins trade just won't cut it in the playoffs.

In years past, though, Doc Rivers has been able to summon a sleeper star off the bench come playoff time, and that contribution has been nearly as significant as any in the deep playoff runs of the past three seasons.

So, who is going to be this year's James Posey?

At this point, it'd be tough to call Glen Davis an X factor. Just about everybody knows how hard he plays and how dangerous a scorer he can be. Still, at times this season, Davis has looked to have even taken his game to another level — one that would justify him being not just a starter, but a quality one for most teams.  Other times, though, he has disappeared in games or really struggled to find his shot. Davis, perhaps, is already such an X factor that he almost isn't one at all.  You know to expect the unexpected.

The Celtics, though, have a few other bench players who could raise their level of play come playoff time. Jeff Green, Delonte West and Nenad Krstic have all been starters in the Association before and have played significant roles on playoff teams.  In truth, we've yet to see the best of any of them since they've joined the Celtics. That, however, is exactly why they have major X factor potential.
