Zdeno Chara, Nicklas Lidstrom, Shea Weber Named Norris Trophy Finalists

Bruins captain Zdeno Chara has been named one of three finalists for the 2010-11 Norris Trophy.

Chara is up against Nicklas Lidstrom of Detroit and Shea Weber of Nashville. The trophy is awarded "to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-around ability in the position."

Chara led the NHL with plus-33 while leading the Bruins in average time on ice of 25:26. He scored 14 goals and assisted on 30 more for 44 points while his eight power play goals tied Michael Ryder for the most on the Bruins. Chara also chipped in with a team-high 264 shots to go with 153 hits and 111 blocked shots in 81 games.

Nicklas Lidstrom
Lidstrom, who has won the trophy in six of the last nine seasons, posted 16 goals and 46 assists for 62 points this season, which was second among all NHL defensemen. The 40-year-old became the oldest defenseman in NHL history to register a 60-point season.

Shea Weber
Weber netted 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points this season while tallying 211 hits and 113 blocked shots.
