Alex Ovechkin on Capitals’ 3-0 Series Deficit to Lightning: ‘It Is Not Over, We Won’t Give Up, We’re Going to Win’

Sometimes, all it takes is a little confidence from the captain.

Asked if the series was still winnable despite being down 3-0 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Alex Ovechkin was about as confident as one could get.

“It is not over,” he said, according to NHL.com. “We won’t give up. We’re going to win.”

Talk about a bold statement.

Either Ovechkin’s English is weakening, or the Capitals’ captain is making the boldest prediction of the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs, as seen in the video below.
