Whenever a goaltender is a team's biggest star in the playoffs, the success really represents a double-edged sword. It's encouraging that the netminder is playing so well, but it's also a little troubling that the defense has let up so many chances.
That's the situation that the Bruins are in.
NESN's Gord Kluzak and Barry Pederson think that the defense needs to step up in order to put away the Tampa Bay Lightning, a team they say has yet to put together a strong, 60-minute effort.
Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk left Game 5 after a hit by Tampa's Steve Downie. He is expected to return in Game 6, and Kluzak and Pederson expect him, as well as the other defensemen, to contribute both offensively and defensively.
