Bruins Still Need to Fight Through Power-Play Struggles Despite Postseason Success

The Bruins have a lot to be happy about as they recently extended their series’ lead to 2-0 over the Flyers and are heading back to Boston for Games 3 and 4, but they still have things they need to work on as the postseason continues — namely the power play.

During the latest edition of Ask Brick, one fan from Holland was curious if the B’s power play struggles are mostly mental issues now that they’ve gone 0-for-29 on the power play throughout the playoffs.

Bruins analyst Andy Brickley agreed with that theory, saying that the Bruins are struggling with both the mental and the physical elements of their power play.

“Even though they’re battling right now with the physical execution, the mental execution has been the most taxing,” Brick said. “When you’re at 0-fer [0-for-29] in the playoffs, it gets to you and the Bruins have to fight their way through it.”
