VANCOUVER — Gregory Campbell has gotten used to dealing with criticism relating to his father.

He's learned to live with the complaints about how Colin Campbell, the NHL's senior vice president and director of hockey operations, dispenses justice as the head of the league's system of supplemental discipline.

But the Bruins forward still can't help but get frustrated by some of the ill-informed attacks on his father, especially when he and his team get dragged into the controversy.

That was the case over the weekend when Vancouver Province writer Tony Gallagher penned a column questioning whether the Canucks would get a fair shake from the officials in the Stanley Cup Final against the Bruins because of Colin Campbell's influence.

"It does [get frustrating], but not to the point where I really care," Campbell said during Tuesday's media day at Rogers Arena. "The frustrating part about it is that it's old and it's not true. But people are going to say things and I don't really care."

Campbell insists both he and his father have learned to ignore such attacks, but the strain in his voice as he addressed the issue belied that indifference.

"He doesn't care," Campbell said of his father. "I don't care. His job has absolutely nothing to do with my job and vice versa. He does his job to the best of his ability. I can't control what people write.

"To be honest with you, I think whoever wins this series is going to be the team that's more deserving of it, not because of anything else," Campbell added.
