Dallas guard Jason Terry has never lacked confidence, so it shouldn't be all that surprising that he predicted a Mavericks championship before the 2010-11 season began.

That prediction, though, came in the form of a tattoo.

Back in October, Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson had his teammates over to his Orlando home the day before a preseason game against the Magic. With Stevenson's personal tattoo artist onhand, Terry decided to get a tattoo that shocked his teammates. He got a picture of the Larry O’Brien Trophy, awarded to the NBA champions, tattooed onto his right bicep.

"Everybody laughed and they thought it was a joke at the time," Terry said. "When they actually see me get it, they were like, 'This boy is serious.' And our whole talk and conversation was about right now, about us getting to this point and winning it all."

The Mavericks will have the chance to make Terry's prediction a reality beginning Tuesday night, when they travel to Miami for Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Not surprisingly, Dallas' sixth man is confident in his team.

"The whole makeup, the chemistry, just all together, all the stars have to line up for you to win it," he said. "They're in place right now. It's just on us to go out and finish the job."
