Jed Lowrie Sits Second Straight Game as Red Sox Take on Jake Peavy, White Sox Jed Lowrie will be on the bench for the second straight game Monday night when the Red Sox open a six-game homestand against the Chicago White Sox.

Lowrie went 2-for-4 in Boston's 4-3 win in the opener of a doubleheader Sunday to raise his average to .306, but he sat in the nightcap. He was replaced in the lineup Sunday night by Drew Sutton, who will play shortstop once again in the opener of a three-game set with Chicago.

Adrian Gonzalez is in his usual No. 3 spot in the lineup. He will be facing former teammate Jake Peavy for the first time. The two were together in San Diego from 2006-09.
