Jorge Posada Wanted Out of New York as Yankees' Disastrous Week Continues What a week it's been to be a Boston Red Sox fan.

Not just a fan of the team, but a fan of the team whose rivals — the 27-time World Series champion Yankees — are unraveling before the league's eyes. Ain't it grand?

The Sox have finally made it over the .500 mark and are riding a four-game winning streak. The squad took all three games in the Bronx over the weekend, but the defeats weren't the only storylines coming out of the Yankee locker room. Jorge Posada, the 17-year Yankee veteran, took himself out of the lineup on Saturday night sparking much drama.

The catcher with a .165 batting average was apparently so upset that he not only wanted out of that night's lineup but he wanted out of the Yankees altogether, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

Yankees front office then reportedly got upset with captain Derek Jeter for taking his pal's side (or not taking the team's side?) in the matter. And of course, Alex Rodriguez did his best to help the Sox sweep the Yanks in New York in a series of at least three games for the first time since April, 2004

Is Posada at fault here or are the Yankees disrespecting another longtime Bronx Bomber? As a Sox fan, would you be glad to see Posada retire, or are his best days behind him? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
