Josh Beckett again looked like an ace on Tuesday night, limiting the Indians to only one run on five hits through 6 2/3 innings. He also struck out six as the Red Sox won 4-2, and he picked up his fourth win of the season.

Beckett said he put himself into some difficult positions, but that he made good pitches when he needed to and received some good defensive support from his teammates.

The righthander was especially impressed by catcher Jason Varitek's performance on Tuesday. In addition to hitting his first home run of the season, Varitek gunned down a couple of would-be base stealers, helping Beckett get out of some jams.
