Kevin Bieksa‘s goal Tuesday night may not have been the prettiest game-winner in NHL history, but it counts just the same.

With Game 5 between the Sharks and Canucks knotted 2-2 about midway through the second overtime, Vancouver defenseman Alex Edler tried to wrap a pass around the boards. Instead — and unknown to most of the players on the ice — it bounced awkwardly off the glass and out to the blue line, where Bieksa was waiting to slap it home.

“I was probably the only guy in the rink that knew where the puck was,” he said after the game.
