After a topsy-turvy season which saw Wayne Rooney threaten to leave the side and the club flirt with invincibility, Manchester United claimed their record-setting 19th league title on Saturday with their 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at EWood Park.

After going down 1-0 in the first half to a Brett Emerton strike, Javier Hernandez won a penalty for the away side in the second half, which Rooney converted to take a share of the points — all that United needed to secure the league championship.

United has now won 12 of the 18 titles of the Premier League era, and now hold a record 19 overall, one more than Liverpool's 18 for the most in the history of English football.
