On Saturday, Manchester United lost the Champions League Final.

On Sunday, they won a major transfer battle against their arch-rivals. According to a Sunday Mirror report, Ashley Young has chosen to sign with United over Liverpool, for a fee of £15 million.

The report has yet to be confirmed, though rumors that Young has passed a physical for United have also surfaced.

The 25-year-old England international had nine goals and 13 assists for Aston Villa in 2010-11, leading the team to a ninth place finish after lurking in the relegation battle for much of the campaign.

Manchester's manager Sir Alex Ferguson attempted to sign Young earlier in the year, but his efforts were rebuffed by Villa management.

The acquisition of Young casts doubt upon the futures of Nani and Antonio Valencia at Old Trafford, as Ferguson will now have three first-team caliber wingers competing for two spots on the pitch.

Despite missing out on Young, Liverpool is still in the market for width in the summer transfer window.
