The New York Daily News reports that sources have indicated that New York would have serious interest in acquiring wide receiver Randy Moss in the event that they aren't able to re-sign Santonio Holmes or Braylon Edwards.
The Jets would prefer to keep both Holmes and Edwards, but if the 2011 NFL season operates under the same rules that were used in 2010, it will be pretty difficult for the Jets to re-sign both, as they would be unrestricted free agents.
The 34-year-old Moss has been mentioned in connection with the Jets before this offseason, and Rex Ryan has said that he believes that Moss could still be a key contributor to an offense. The report indicates that the Jets' interest in Moss would be elevated if either Holmes or Edwards do not return.
Moss caught just 28 passes (although five of them for touchdowns) for 393 yards in time with the Patriots, Vikings and Titans last season.
