In the Eastern Conference Finals, however, they'll be facing an opponent enjoying a similar tear.
The Lightning followed up their comeback series victory against the Penguins with an impressive four-game sweep of top-seeded Washington, setting up their matchup with the B's.
The two clubs, certainly, have succeeded using different styles. While the Bruins have struggled on the power play, special teams has been one of Tampa's areas of strength this postseason. They've scored 12 power play goals in 45 opportunities, good for over 26 percent for the playoffs, and their penalty kill is equally impressive, having surrendered just three goals on the man advantage, while notching a short-handed effort of their own.
While Dwayne Roloson hasn't performed at Tim Thomas' level this season, the 41-year old has done very well for the Lightning. He is 8-3 in the playoffs with a .941 save percentage and just a 2.01 GAA, more than good enough to keep the Bolts in the game given their high-octane offense.
The Lightning have nothing but elite scoring threats, with Steven Stamkos and Martin St. Louis scoring over 90 points during the regular season, and with Vincent Lecavalier, Simon Gagne, Teddy Purcell and Ryan Malone all serving as dangerous options as well.
Tampa is also a very efficient shot-blocking club, which has served them very well in the playoffs. In the regular season, the Bolts were eighth best in that category, making them the highest-ranked team left in the competition.
