A three-game sweep couldn't have come at a better time for the Red Sox, who pulled it off in New York of all places. The Sox, .500 as of Monday morning for the first time all season, broke out the clubs over the weekend and outscored the Yanks 18-9 on 28 total hits.

Kevin Youkilis went 4-for-14 with two homers and five RBIs and raised his batting average to .246.

Adrian Gonzalez had just two hits, but they were both for homers. He walked five times (twice intentionally) and drove in five RBIs.

Jacoby Ellsbury boosted his batting average to .299, thanks to five hits in 13 at-bats. He scored twice, had two doubles and drove in two runs while also stealing a base.

Dustin Pedroia added four hits to go with two stolen bases. The second baseman also scored three times and raised his batting average .010 points over the weekend to .247.

David Ortiz went 4-for-12 with a double and a homer during the three-game sweep and has boosted his batting average to .295 and his slugging percentage over .500 (.504) for the first time since April 15.
