Sure there are no closers in hockey, but there are players who step up their game and carry their team to victory when they need it most.
That's now for the Bruins, who can't allow the Flyers to even think about last year's comeback.
Tim Thomas has carried the team on his back all year long, but as we've seen in the regular season, he can't do it alone. As good as he is, he can't stop everything and he'll need the help from his defense.
That's where captain Zdeno Chara comes in. Big Z has been hampered with illness this postseason, but the captain has managed to shut down the Flyers' potent attack — not many teams can say that.
On the offensive side of things, the Flyer-killer himself, David Krejci, can put the final nail in the coffin with another three- or four-point game against the team that literally knocked him down and his teammates out of the playoffs a year ago. Another guy getting things done all over the ice is rookie Brad Marchand. Although his approach isn't as sleek and contained as Krejci's, the winger's play has been critical all series and he can't let up now.
While the B's stare a series sweep in the eye, one player is going to have step up and take charge. Last year, the wheels fell off, starting in Game 4. This year, it's a different story, but who will take charge and get the B's over that hump?
