Which Red Sox Pitcher Will Be the Amica Pitcher of the Week? The Red Sox look to keep some momentum going after an emotional win on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, a game that Carl Crawford eventually won for Boston on a walk-off hit.

Jonathan Papelbon earned his first win of the season as the Red Sox edged the Mariners at Fenway. Papelbon notched yet another quality outing, lowering his ERA to 1.74 in the process.

Things weren’t so great this past week for Bobby Jenks, however, as the reliever struggled with his control in two appearances, walking four and surrendering three runs in just one and a third innings pitched.

On Saturday, John Lackey pitched one of his best starts this season, going six innings and giving up only two runs with three strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Sox’ bats couldn’t muster a run and Lackey ended up with the loss.

Jon Lester earned his third consecutive win against the Orioles on Thursday, going eight innings and improving to 14-0 all time against the Orioles. That start earned him the Amica Pitcher of the Week award last week.

So while the Red Sox move back toward the right side of .500, who will have an impact this week?

Clay Buchholz has two more starts during the current homestand to try and improve his 1-3 record, one against the Angels and one against the Twins, while Josh Beckett, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Lester, and Lackey will each have one start.

The Sox will be counting on strong outings from Matsuzaka and Beckett to keep the Sox momentum going into the next weeks.
