Former All-Star outfielder Lenny Dykstra has had quite the difficult 2011. In April, the 11-year MLB veteran was charged with a federal bankruptcy crime. Less than two months later, Dykstra is in the news again.

Dykstra, 48, was charged on Monday with grand theft auto and drug possession. Dykstra and two acquaintances allegedly attempted to lease expensive cars using fake personal information while proving their credit through a fake business. They succeeded in manipulating one dealer to lease them three cars.

Police arrested the former ballplayer on April 14, and found cocaine, ecstasy and HGH at his California home. Dykstra is being charged with 25 misdemeanor and felony counts, and faces up to 12 years in state prison.

Dykstra collected 1,298 hits in his career playing for the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. He led the Mets to a World Series title over the Boston Red Sox in 1986 and was named to three All-Star teams as a member of the Phillies.

It's not clear if friend Charlie Sheen plans on bailing Dykstra out of this mess, as he did back in April.
