Bruins Stanley Cup Victory Would Rank Just Behind 2004 Red Sox in Recent Boston Sports History (Podcast) For Boston sports fans, ranking your favorite championships is like choosing your favorite child. They’re all unique in their own little ways. You just can’t do it.

But, hey, let’s try anyway.

NESN.com’s Michael Hurley was a guest on WFAN’s Keefe to the City Podcast with Neil Keefe, and he tried to put in perspective a Bruins victory.

“This would in itself complete it,” he said of a potential Bruins victory. “Any sports fan in Boston would have nothing to really complain about for a long, long time if the Bruins could do this.

“It can’t really stack up against the Red Sox because they didn’t win for 86 years and it really seemed like it would never happen. The Patriots sort of came out of nowhere and the Celtics were just built like a superteam. So this might be up there just behind the Red Sox and sort on par with the Patriots  … It would be up there.”
