Adrian Gonzalez Move to Right Field Would Reshuffle Multiple Lineup Spots

Getting David Ortiz into the lineup during the Red Sox' upcoming nine-game interleague road trip is not as easy as simply moving first baseman Adrian Gonzalez to right field, Red Sox manager Terry Francona said before Wednesday's game.

While moving Gonzalez to right field, where he has played one game in his career, would open up a spot for David Ortiz to play at first base, it would also force J.D. Drew to move to left field in the lineup the Red Sox would utilize against a right-handed pitcher.

The move from one corner outfield position to the other is not a dramatic a shift as first base to right field, but Drew has only played 33 games in left in his career, handling a grand total of 45 chances.
