Burrows and Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron became involved in a scrum at the end of the first period, with Burrows biting Bergeron's finger during the melee. Despite the video evidence of the bite, league senior vice president of hockey operations Mike Murphy chose not to fine or suspend Burrows after a hearing on Thursday.
After the Canucks' practice at the University of British Columbia on Friday, Burrows addressed the decision, and stated that the last couple of days since the game have not been marked by any worries over any potential discipline for the incident.
"They've been great actually," Burrows said. "It's the Stanley Cup Finals right now. I've been working all my life to be in this position. Obviously with the last incident, the league made its decision and I've moved on. Now I'm focusing on a big game [Saturday] night."
Burrows plays a key role for the Canucks on the top line with Daniel and Henrik Sedin, but he's been involved in a number of controversies as well. He was fined for comments about referee Stephane Auger last season and also pulled Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith's hair in a fight in 2009.
"I've had a few calls with the league in the years, and they've always been great," Burrows said. "I really respect those people. They have a tough job and they have tough decisions to make, but at the end of the day we had a good chat and I really respect [Murphy's] decision. He was great and that's all I can say about it."
